i can understand why many folks seem to have missed the point with the "noisy" bit at the front, but i believe it serves as a palette cleanser of sorts. it causes you to shift out of the over-produced, creation-depraved "music" we're used to in our daily bombardment..i mean, lives and for a brief moment you're in a state where your mind is able to receive a series of seemingly erratic stutters and bleeps and process them into music. so many musicians, from radiohead to talk talk and deerhoof to toru takemitsu, have employed this same technique for decades to much sonic success. i personally love the intro, but again, i can definitely see how many (who may not start their day with Dat Politics, Nathan Michel, or even, Autechre)would not. it's all a matter of perception. would it help to think of it as the sound machines make as they come to life and try to communicate with us through song? - what a wonderful notion.

Thanks for sharing this...it's brilliant! I was a big fan of the <a href="http://hypem.com/track/528486/Radiohead+%28Remix%3A+Hipster+Runoff%29-Nude+%28Hipster+Runoff+Remix%29" rel="nofollow">Hipster Runoff remix</a> because it had a similar ironic, half-mocking tone, but this definitely takes the cake...
