Do The Joy by AIR

I’m pretty sure that most everyone in the world loves the band AIR. Of course, now having written that, I’m gonna get those 14 people in the world out there saying how stupid they are… But yes, I think that AIR has this almost universal appeal to people. Their music is accessible and easy to listen to, and I know there are some days when I wake up and the only way to make me feel better is a bit of Moon Safari.

For their upcoming sixth album, Love 2, Mr. Dunckel and Mr. Godin have continued their pop filled electronic sound, as evidenced by the first single off the album, Do the Joy. The song starts out with a great little bass line, then accompanied by some synths, and then their signature piano style drops in. It kind of reminds of track that might be on 10 000 Hz Legend, but sort of Moon Safari-esque as well.

The album is being released in mid-October, which is way too far away.

  1. They are great on stage I saw them in Madrid, the sound was perfect. France has very good musicians such M83, Daft Punk, Phoenix, Sebastien Tellier, Air…

  2. Being a fan of AIR, I’m a bit disappointed by this new song “Do the Joy”. The electronic side (synths especially) is very strong and the voice does not have enough humanity… miss something to make me feel something as they did with Moon Safari & Talkie Walkie. Hope the whole album will not be like that !

PS : If you like AIR, do you know this album “5:55″ created by them with Charlotte Gainsbourg, a french singer ? If you don’t, listen to it, you should like it : http://www-v3.deezer.com/fr/music/result/all/charlotte%20gainsbourg#music/charlotte-gainsbourg/5-55-94576

  3. I think they’re pretty awesome. Cherry Blossom Girl is my fave by them. And Yann, Charlotte Gainsbourg is pretty sweet as well.
