Matte Stephens

I’m totally loving the mid-century, Mad Men-esque artwork of Matte Stephens, a painter from Portland, Oregon. His style is entirely charming, filled with all kinds of muted oranges and olive greens, and every grown man has a pipe in his mouth. It definitely feels like Matte lives in his own old-timey universe and these are just the every day things he sees.

I’m totally smitten with the top painting which is aptly titled Dancing, and I love the color of the trees in the second painting. Definitely pay Matte a visit, his work is too fun not to.
