Today is the release of Where The Wild Things Are, so I thought it would be fun if this week’s Mixcast was a tribute to the movie. I’ve basically put together a bunch of songs that I think fit into the spirit of the movie. These are songs that are fun, loud, energetic and have some heart to them. I’m seeing an early matinee to beat the rush, but so far it sounds like everyone is loving it.

Just to be clear, I don’t represent Warner Bros., Spike Jonze, Maurice Sendak or anyone involved, this is purely just something fun I’m doing… so please don’t sue me! I hope you enjoy this weeks Mixcast, I had a ton of fun putting the songs together and I think you’ll really like it.

Here’s this week’s tracklist:
Wake Up by Arcade Fire
Grass by Animal Collective
The Owls Go by Architecture in Helsinki
At The Seaside by Peter Bjorn and John
All Thoughts Are Prey To Some Beast by Bill Callahan
Crickets by Akron/Family
Traveling Through A Sea by Grouper
Oh! My Mama by Alela Diane
Dream For Me by The Accidental
With Arms Outstretched by Rilo Kiley
We All Belong by Dr. Dog

  20. I just saw the movie, I was a bit disappointed. I was a huge fan of the book when I was a kid, but found the movie to be a bit boring, and dare I say “uninspired”? Maybe I just expected too much.
