I just got this in the mail yesterday. So amazing. I'm gonna check out the story today, but the cover is rad! To me the lights from the cellphones represent the interactions the adults are having with the world, family, friends, etc and the lights on the children's faces are "real" interactions with people which all of us USE to have. even though the adults are standing amongst other tangible people they are lost in technology. who is learning more here? who is growing more? who is being moved? who will remember these moments more? I would say the children across the board. Remember our parents running around with us on Halloween? Towards the end of the trick-or-treating night we ended up in a big group of kids followed by a pack of parents walking around, talking together, not worrying about the shifting of the market stocks, the newest restaurant opening, or a sale at the ridiculously overpriced boutique. Do you think these kids are even gonna remember that their parents were with them? Get off your phones and live in the moment that you are in, with your family, your kids, your neighbors.

Peace and "REAL" interactions.

That reminds me of this NPR story I heard years about about a photographer who took pictures of people's houses. The saddest one was at dusk and all you could see was a blue light coming from the downstairs window and another one from upstairs. Only two people lived there. Both watching television. Alone.
