#musicmonday
November 2, 2009 // #musicmonday

It’s Monday again so here’s what I’ve been listening to over the week. As you can see the new Devendra has been on repeat, I’m totally in love with this album. Also be sure to check out Fruit Bats and Radical Face, both of them have been getting a lot of love from me.
What are you listening to?
Bobby

`I prefer JPG over JPEG any day.`

I’ve been checking out Monsters of Folk. Great driving music for the fall weather in Minneapolis.

St. Vincent – Still in love with Actor
The Tough Alliance – Sincerely Yours label, automatic favorite
Twin Sister – a band that graduated from my college here at SUNY Purchase north of NYC. Incredibly talented and young individuals, they will go far.

According to last.fm
1.- System of a down
2.- Radiohead
3.- Natalia Lafourcade
4.- Tool
5.- Muse
6.- Frederic Chopin
7.- Placebo
I really recommend #3, a little mexican singer who is extremely easy to listen. :D Her second album does not have the name Natalia Lafourcade but has Natalia y la forquetina instead.

@Tony – Monsters of Folk is an amazing album, definitely one of my favorites of the year.
@Chipotle – Is that Swell Season album any good? I just keep thinking about their dumb performance on the Academy Awards or something from a while back.
@Peter – I need to get that Princeton album! Thanks for the reminder!!
@Ariel – I’ll definitely check her out.
@Drew – Been meaning to check out Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Hallo
Nice music you’re all listening. I like them all.
I am revisiting some nineties. Mostly ambient works and techno. One track that really surprises me it’s “Life’s a Gas” by Wolfgang Voigt – I find it emotional and makes me remember the deep love i felt in the past (will i get more? cry…) :D Here and there some old Beck “crap”, Pavement and etceteras
Recent records includes:
Atlas Sound – Logos
Ducktails – Landscapes
Times New Viking – Born Again Revisited
Alva Noto – Xerrox vol. 2
Yo la tengo – Popular Songs
Raveonettes – In and out of control
Kompakt Records – Total 10
Desire – II (italians do it better)
Volcano Choir – Unmap
…
oh god… could be here forever… gonna close my player now…

Two albums I really loved this past week:
CFCF – Continent
Pearl and the Beard – God Bless Your Weary Soul, Amanda Richardson
The new Tegan & Sara album has also been great, but yeah – those two albums are my biggest recommendations at the moment.

@ Bobby. About The Swell Season’s new album its just amazing, just hear the very first track called Low rising, just beautiful. And I agree with Simon about the Tegan & Sara album, a great one.
