The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Frank Chimero
November 11, 2009 // The Desktop Wallpaper Project

When I say that the next couple months of wallpaper are amazing I promise I’m not being a horse’s ass, I really, truly mean it. Last week we had the wonderful Alex Cornell and this week we have the amazing Frank Chimero. Frank is one of those artists that dabbles in beautiful simplicity. He makes amazing art with only the necessary pieces. You’ve probably seen Frank’s work like his incredible project The States in which he created the outlines of states out of other objects like birds and cigarettes. Sadly, he’s pulled a Sufjan so far and hasn’t finished…
For his wallpaper Frank wrote me, “I bought a six pack last night and this came out. I’ve had bits and pieces of it spinning around in my head the past few weeks, so it was nice to get it out onto something.” So clearly, even when inebriated Frank Chimero can create amazing pieces that make you happy you own a computer with a big monitor.
Be sure to check back next week for another rad wallpaper!

`Any more good recommendations for music I should listen to this weekend? Non-American, Swedish, Icelandic, Japanese stuff is even better.`

Loos terrific! I’m betting he’ll finish that States project.

I really like this one, it remains me that old ancient greek drawings, and also the background like an old book remains me the Amnesiac special edition by Radiohead & Steve Donwood, is it femenine and masculine figures??

A reminder to myself to not post at 6 in the morning. “Looks terrific!” was what I meant to say.

Looks fantastic! Hope I’m not the only one whose brain jumped straight to Darth Vader based on the shape of the heads together…
