I think it’s only a matter of time. As with the idea behind this OS everything can be moved on the web which would make it smarter for the user since they then can have access to their stuff no matter where they are. At some point I’m sure Photoshop, After Effects, Final Cut etc. will be moved onto servers where your then pay for having access an amount of time. When you’ve payed you get directed to some sort of online remote desktop from where you can use the application online. When you’re done with your job you can send you files to your online storage device. It’s all be flowing and you won’t have the need to buy a new superduper computer with the latest graphics and processor power every third year since the company will be doing that making sure their servers (or computers with some kind of remote desktop application you can access from your browser) are up to date, to give the best and fastest experience to their costumers.

Too for companies it would be a great way to work since they will only have to do a quick browser update and change the servers (from a central place) to have their system running the latest new stuff.

I must admit though that I’ll probably take some time to get people used to this kind of doing work and even longer to make people begin using the new system since most will want to have their own files on a physical media and not on a server somewhere in ‘inter-space’.

I already do a lot of that with Fluid – as in having seperate icons in my Dock for Gmail, Google Docs etc… But Chrome looks like it would handle this much better.

Unfortunately though, I doubt it would ever support Final Cut, After Effects, Ableton Live etc. etc…
