Matte Black Nesting Dolls by MUJI
Posted by Bobby Solomon • December 7, 2009 • Design

The other day Mr. Erdenberger pointed out that the new X-Mas collection by MUJI was out. Curious, I took a pop over and came across these awesome looking nesting dolls. These matte black nesting dolls are pretty rad looking and seem to have a kind of chalkboard coating that let’s you draw on them. The tallest one is about 5 inches tall and the set goes for $13… which is cool if, you know, you’re in Japan.
If you happen to be iN japan, you can grab a set by clicking here.

There are a few MUJI stores in New York City – definitely worth checking out, and much closer than Japan.

@Sarah – Totally, but I’m here in LA, so it seems just as far away!

[...] Design blog Kitsune Noir found these chalkboard-painted nesting dolls by MUJI. They're only available in Japan, but it'd be the easiest thing in the world to make your own version with chalkboard paint. Find the blanks online or do what I'm doing and order a cheap already-painted set on eBay. You're going to paint it anyway. Chalkboard Matryoshka Nesting Dolls. [...]
