The video above is from a project called Drawn, which takes brush drawn ink blots, which are then “magically” animated to look like they’re moving on the paper. The whole thing is entrancing. Basically when they draw on the paper, a camera captures the drawing and special software translates the image information into something that can be manipulated digitally. The cameras can then figure out where your hands are, and where the ink daubs are, which then gives the illusion that you’re physically manipulating a 2D object.

And there’s sound involved when he manipulates the blobs… just watch the video, it makes much more sense.

1. reminds me a lot of the physics and feel of the drawing section inMOOVL though somewhat evolved from there to include customizable gravitation. I wonder how the sound works in this?
