Astonishing X-Men Covers by John Cassady

I was cleaning up last night and came across a big stack of comic books and I thought I’d post these. These are four alternate covers from Astonishing X-men, and I absolutely love them. The artwork is by John Cassaday, whom I’ve already ooo’ed and aww’ed over, but these covers are like comic book pop art. It would be so cool if Marvel made prints of these, I would certainly buy them.

  4. i found a very old Marvel comic “Junge Giganten” at the flea market for about 10cent. It’s such an amazing piece of work. The colors just drive me insane! Love it!

  5. I contribute the pop art effect to the colorist, Laura Martin. I’m a part of the Dollar Bin, a comic book podcast, and we interviewed her at Heroes Con 2007. We asked her about those covers and she gave a little insight about them. In particular, I think she mentions the Beast cover.
