Brian Michael Bendis was also involved in the TV series "Alias," but I can't find in which capacity. I'm fairly certain he at least wrote scripts for the show, but I'm not sure when.

I noticed a "tell" of Lienil Yu's in this issue: before they're revealed, the Skrulls are all pictured in silhouette in the foreground of a panel. So far the only false positive is Wolverine...

You assume I don't read things by Brubaker? haha... I actually picked up Captain America because of him, and his Daredevil work is great. And I love Sean Phillips on Criminal, they need to get him back on a mainstream book as well, he's too good.

Bendis is still an amazing writer, no matter how many grammatical errors THEY'RE are ; )

You should try some Brubaker comics. I've never been a fan of Marvel or DC proper, but Brubaker got me into Daredevil and Captain America - very realistic characters and genuine dialogue. He also has some fantastic non-Marvel, non-DC work (see Criminal and Criminal 2).

I've been reading some of Bendis' Powers TPBs lately, and the guy got so many typos in them. I was astonished that Image editors never caught the your/you're, there/their/they're, etc. errors. Issue 1 of Secret Invasion, however, is a tribute to the power of a Marvel-sized corporation for proper grammar.

But I enjoyed the issue. My mind is blazing with Skrully possibilities.

No no no, this is the real deal, my friend. Basically Marvel has this writer named Brian Michael Bendis who has sort of "orchestrated" the greater Marvel universe, shaping the major plot lines and making things tie into one another.

This storyline has been culminating for the last 4 years, since they started a book called New Avengers. Basically the Skrulls, a janky looking alien race, think that Earth belongs to them. But every time they try to take it over, they got stopped.

So they finally had enough and started to really think about what they were doing and what needed to be done. Earth has endured a 'Secret Invasion', and the Skrulls are finally putting their plan into action.

It's a brilliant chunk of writing done much better than your average comic book. People feel more real, there's less hokey dialogue and more real life type consequences.

When Brian Michael Bendis leaves Marvel, I'm probbaly going to stop reading comic books.

Haven't kept up with comics for a long time now. What's the scoop on this storyline? Is this one of those "What If?" type storylines or is this really supposed to be part of the Marvel continuity?
