And it's not just a galaxy... it's our galaxy... so doesn't it make you feel just a little more badass to be a part of it? :)

You might enjoy this:

http://www.alienearths.org/glimpse/glimpse.php

It's a flash tool that lets you view the entirety of the galaxy in high resolution, with zoom. Works kind of like google earth.

This pretty much sums it up, incase you dont wanna look up on it.

large hadron collider-

It's this thing they're going to use to launch protons together at incredible speeds
and when they hit
it will create the conditions of the big bang a billionth of a second after it happened.
They're basically searching for this thing called the Higgs Boson, otherwise known as the God particle.
They're smashing protons to see what makes up protons.
The Higgs Boson is this theoretical particle that made up the type of matter before the big bang occured
It's basically this particle in which the four forces of the universe are combined
2:28 Electromagnetism, Strong Nuclear Force, Weak Nuclear Force, and Gravity. If they find it they'll find out so much about the universe.
2:29 Problem is, if it goes wrong they could create antimatter, which would result in a doomsday scenario or they could create these mini black holes.
The Large Hadron Collider is underneath Geneva
in Switzerland.
The chance that a doomsday scenario will occur is so minute, though. like, .0000001% likely to happen.
And if the mini black holes were created, it would sort of be a success.
2:30 Because they'd be so small they would just dissipate.
And then we'd be able to use these monitors they have, six story high monitors and sensors that monitor what the LHC is doing
and we could observe the black holes and the way they acted
what they're made of, etc.We basically have the potential to become Gods through knowledge of the universe.
And this happens in 33 days

so not only is that picture GORGEOUS, but the site is really amazing! and has so much facts about space i didnt know.
I was telling my friend about this site, and he told me about the LHC which I think you should look up and definetly write a blog on this! http://www.lhcountdown.com/

Yes, outer space is where it's at!

Microsoft Research recently unveiled Worldwide Telescope. Thought you might be interested in it.
