‘Polygene’ by Efterklang
February 4, 2010 // Music Video

If there was one thing I could learn how to do it would be creating motion visuals and animations. It’s a realm that seems so beyond my current skills but that I love to watch. This video for the Efterklang song Polygene is a great example. The video was directed by Carolina Melis and features a ton of amazing shapes and colors that remind of mixture between old cartoons and It’s A Small World. I love how the visuals slowly start to evolve over time with the song, it’s a really beautiful video, even if it is a few years old.

  3. Yeah doing motion graphics seems to be so foreign to me. I’m taking a class right now which has been pretty fun so far, but stuff like this just amazes me.

  4. OMG – SO MUCH work to make that!! But worth it – it’s stunning.

Ive been a motion designer for 10 years and would highly recommend the tutorials on this site for people who are interested in learning about after effects and motion graphics…

  6. I second the videocopilot recommendation. A depth of fun material there. Also take a look at greyscale gorilla.

  7. This reminds me of Efterklangs musicvideo for their track Caravan, which I think you’d like.
